· Use: This knowledge is used to produce products like food and medicines on a large scale for society.

Industrial Microbiology

· It is the commercial use of microbes.
· It includes economic, social, and environment-related processes and products.
· It carries out microbial processes for this purpose.

Main Features of Industrial Microbiology

A. Production using Fermentation

· Examples: Bread, cheese, wine, chemicals, enzymes, nutrients, medicines.

B. Use of Microbes for Environmental Management

· Garbage management.
· Pollution control.
